No nursery can be complete without a crib, and no crib can be complete without the right crib bedding. Because of the large selection, you may find it easier to shop online for the perfect crib. Be prepared that someone may find your choice of baby bedding ugly. This doesn’t mean it is ugly, but different people have different tastes. Also keep your budget in mind while you’re shopping. Bedding sets can get very expensive, so try not to fall in love with crib bedding you can’t afford. The easiest way to narrow your search is to choose a theme and set a budget before you start shopping.
If you’re planning on having more children, it makes sense to think ahead. If you know you’re having a baby girl, you probably have your heart set on a girl baby bedding set, blindingly pink and girly, such as a Pixie Stix 4 piece crib set. But you might have a boy next – and a feminine bedding set would look pretty weird in his nursery. Before you dump a lot of money into baby bedding, you will want to reuse it, so pick a neutral theme – and don’t worry, there are some really cute ones out there. Those super-cute (and super-costly) crib sets are very tempting, but is it really worth breaking your budget to buy it? Everyone want the nursery to look cute, but remember that it’s not your room. It belongs to your baby and babies just want a warm, comfortable place to sleep.
Physical stores usually only carry a handful of options, because they don’t have the room to to display and store the massive selections you find online. For example, while a web store may have 20, 30 or even more brands to choose from, most offline stores carry only a couple of brands. Some only have one. And you’re not paying more when you shop online, either. Online retailers can almost always sell for less than a physical location can (lower overhead).
But, of course, there are also disadvantages to buying online – the biggest one being that you can’t touch or examine the bedding. So if you want to know exactly how soft a bedding set is, you have no other choice but to buy it. Product photos, or even product videos simply do not allow you to examine the bedding the way you can in a real-life setting. You might want to look online for baby bedding ideas, but you should be aware that the range of choices is staggering and you may get overwhelmed by too many options. Try to have a general idea of what you want and how much you want to spend before you start looking.
