Toddlers and parents are both proud when the little one learns how to use the potty.  Potty training girls can be easier than training boys, but still has it’s fair share of challenges.  There are many tools and resources available in today’s world to make the parents job easier than it was in the early days.You can watch your toddler beam with pride when they have successfully mastered their potty training if you apply the following tips.

  • Dress your little girl for potty training success.Little girls find it easier to work with dresses as opposed to other types of clothing.When potty training your little one, it is important not to dress them in jumpsuits or jeans with zippers.Ensure that your little girl is able to quickly go potty.
  • Don’t put pressure on the toddler to be successful right away.  Make the process fun and reward them when they are successful.
  • Don’t rush into training.  Look for signs that your little girl is ready for potty training.  If she shows an interest when you go to the bathroom, or if she doesn’t like her diapers any more, it may be a sign that it is time to start the training.Most toddlers start potty training at 3 years of age, but some will start as early as 2 years and as late as 4 years.
  • Teach your little girl to wipe properly to avoid infections.Teach your little girl to wipe front to back.  It is best if you can use 1 piece of toilet paper to wipe the pee, and another to wipe the poop.
  • Teach her to keep her legs together when going potty so that she will have less chance of an accident.
