Do You Have Problems With Feeding Your Baby?
Many moms have problems with baby feeding, even when they are breastfeeding. Normally, this is something that is easily solved but that does not stop a new mom from panicking when they think they aren’t going to be able to feed their baby. Some mothers have to feed with a bottle for many reasons, and though this may be a bit easier at first, there are things that anyone feeding a baby needs to remember.
One of the best tools to aid in baby feeding for a new breastfeeding mom is a pillow that is shaped something like a circle that does not close together. This is a wonderful way to get the baby into the proper position to reach the breast without putting any strain on the mother.
There are also some special challenges for mothers who have to use baby bottle feeding techniques. They must be certain the formula is at the proper temperature, and they need to watch how the baby is lying. Babies who feed this way get more air, and that means they have to be burped a little more than other babies. The temperature must be perfect and the baby will need relief from built up gas after feeding. The formula, if that is what is being fed to the baby, can often cause problems too. It might take a while to sort out what is going on.
When you are baby feeding any baby, it is always a good idea to have them as upright as you can. Though this way might not seem quite as natural, it is very useful in the case of acid reflux. They just think they have a cranky baby that cries a lot. If a baby seems especially bothered after baby feeding, it may be reflux or gas. Either one can be treated, but the baby with reflux is may have a hard time remaining calm.

I keep most of my baby's gear in her cubby at school. It has: spare clothes, Tylenol, nasal syringe, extra formula. She uses one blanket for school and her teachers launder it for me at least once a week, more if needed. Her diapers and creme are stored in the changing station. Baby food, Tylenol, and solid food are stored in a prep area that the babies are blocked from. Other than bottles needing to be pre-made, her school is really accommodating– they provide wipes, bibs, etc. We are asked not to bring toys from home unless baby has a lovey. They have the same toy rule for bigger kids too. I can't think of a daycare that would take a baby's temperature rectally, so I am fine with using their thermometer as it's just a baby's armpit. If I don't have a diaper bag in the car and am heading out after picking the kids up, I just grab one or two of their diapers from my stash and put it in my purse. I have a bad habit of making my stuff expand to meet the size of any bag!
Right on!!!
