Birthdays of our children are important to us. We look forward to celebrate them in such a way that it would be fun and memorable to them. However, the thought of having a celebration can turn out to be really expensive especially if we don’t plan it well enough for us to be able to afford it. With some creativity and advanced planning, we can celebrate our child’s first birthday with a bang even if it should work closely within a set budget. 

Remember that at one year old, your child still can’t appreciate the birthday celebration you are holding for him or her. So, you can celebrate birthday but you don’t have to make it so grand that it would really hurt your budget. Here are some birthday preparation ideas if you are celebrating a child’s first birthday:

Check out your tableware and see if they’re still good enough to use for the first birthday party. However, chances are that you would want to buy disposable tableware so you don’t need to take care of the dishes later.

You can have a really nice themed birthday tableware complete with all birthday plates sets, table covers, table napkins, etc. In fact, you can create any theme you like for the celebration. The children would surely look forward to come to the party wearing their costumes.

  Have something prepared birthday treats such as spaghetti, hotdogs, cake, balloons, marshmallows, finger foods, drinks, etc. If you’re going to serve dinner or lunch, you can cook two or three dishes to go with a few of those treats mentioned earlier. This means that you would need a few good plates that will serve as birthday party dinner plates or birthday party lunch plates. You might also want to work around your budget to buy disposable dinner dessert plates, cups and other party supplies for your convenience.

Invite only a few close relatives, friends, neighbors and their children . For a more personal touch, not to mention that it’s less expensive on your part, you can create the invitation yourself.

Prepare some party activities where the children can join and have fun. Make sure that it will be a children’s party to remember afterwards.

Lastly, you have to remember that even though your child may not be able to appreciate the birthday celebration you have set up for him or her this year but in a few years from now, he or she will have the idea when he or she sees the birthday photos . So you have to make sure that the camera and the batteries are ready so you can have pictures of the birthday celebration taken. If you can take videos with your camera, it’s also a good idea to capture those birthday happy moments.

Surely, you can’t wait to get started on that birthday planning and preparation .
