A car interior carpet can be more difficult to clean than the floor coverings in your home. You have to work in a tighter space and there're various items that will get in your way such as the steering wheel etc. The best solution to clean a carpet is to remove it from the car and give it a good dusting. That is not always possible though since many floor coverings are glued down.

If the carpet has been stained, and it probably has, you can treat it with particular shampoo. Some stains will be difficult to remove but it is astounding what some elbow grease can accomplish. Don't make the classic mistake of using a lot of shampoo as it'll take forever to remove all the suds. it's better to shampoo the carpet twice than use a lot of to start with. You can carefully scrub the material but don't get excessively rough on it or you could damage it.

If you are able to eliminate the car interior carpet, use a tiny vacuum to clean up the inside of the car. I know you may think it is unnecessary as nobody will see that area when the floor cover is changed but it is critical to keep a car clean. You do not want an infestation of any unwanted pests.

Let your car interior carpet dry under ordinary daylight as it will help to eliminate any remaining germs. It's worth investing in some floor mats and also trying to not eat or drink in the car to keep mess to a minimum. Get into the habit of cleaning up your auto on a regular basis as little and often is very much easier than having to do a huge job because you haven't vacuumed for months.
